Medicare patients receive EUFLEXXA™ directly from their physicians: For patients with Medicare benefits, the physician must purchase and stock EUFLEXXA™ in the office. Medicare will not cover the cost of individual prescriptions written by doctors and filled by patients. However, this rule is subject to change, pending new Medicare guidelines.

Patient fills own prescription:
If EUFLEXXA™ therapy is covered under a patient’s insurance policy, a physician may write a prescription for EUFLEXXA™ to be filled at a local pharmacy. The person for whom the prescription was written would then return to the physician’s office with the EUFLEXXA™ to receive an injection in the knee.
